Pre-Order: The Forest Knows The True Beast

One final line. Countless ways to reach it.  I'm absolutely delighted to have a short story published in a brand new shared-line anthology from Lemon Jelly Press. The Forest Knows the True Beast  features short stories and poetry built around one simple challenge: every contributor was asked to create an original piece ending with the exact same sentence: The forest knows the true beast. What comes before those words is entirely their own. The collection moves through horror, folklore, fantasy, eco-fiction, dark fairy tales and poetry, with each writer taking the shared ending somewhere completely different. Different voices follow different paths, but all end with the same final sentence. If you feel so inclined, you ...

Citadel

2012 Dir. Ciarán Foy An agoraphobic young man teams up with a renegade priest to save his baby daughter from a gang of seemingly demonic youths. Citadel [sit-uh-del] noun 1. And rarely lets go. Effortlessly playing on contemporary social fears and anxieties, such as the breakdown of community, the failure of welfare systems set up to ...

1967 Dir. Jeremy Summers While vacationing in Tangiers, Stephen and Marie learn that their friend Fernando’s girlfriend has been reported missing. Before long, Marie is abducted when she attends a magic show hosted by the mysterious Felix Mandeville and his wife, mentalist Rebecca. It soon transpires that Marie is being held captive in a plush brothel along with a slew of other women who have been ‘collected’ from around the globe by the dastardly Mandeville and Rebecca in a covert sex-slave operation! This little oddity, aside from being a lesser-seen Vincent Price vehicle, is a guiltily entertaining romp produced by Harry Alan Towers ( Fu Manchu , Jess Franco’s Justine, Warrior Queen and Howling IV: The Original Nightmare amongst other schlocky delights). According to Mark McGee, author of Faster and Furiouser: The Revised and Fattened Fable of American International Pictures , it is “quite possibly the sleaziest movie AIP ever made.” I'm not sure that's altogether ...
